Toy Face Tour, A Multi-City Solo Show
In May 2023, Amrit Pal Singh began his multi-city solo show, The Toy Face Tour, with over 25,000 visitors. The presentation covered four major cities across India, starting from Delhi and Mumbai to Bengaluru and ending at Gurguram.
Singh’s first solo show celebrates the ever-growing collection of Toy Faces, coinciding with his 100th NFT drop. He returned to the project’s origins by delving into icons from the art world.
Presented in a physical art collector’s Toy Room with a toy-like interpretation of iconic furniture works, Amrit unveiled seven new Toy Faces of iconic artists highlighted by an official collaboration with the M.F. Husain estate. Apart from M.F. Husain Toy Face, other artworks included Yayoi Kusama Toy Face, Mondrian Toy Face, Basquiat Toy Face, Andy Warhol Toy Face, Dali Toy Face, and Amrita Sher-Gil Toy Face.
"The Toy Face Tour" wasn't just about static displays. Visitors were immersed in an interactive experience that brought the artwork to life. The immersive "Collector's Toy Room," designed by Singh himself, offered a tangible touchpoint to the digital world of NFTs. Physical furniture within the room mirrored elements from his digital toy collections, blurring the lines between the virtual and physical.
